Reconnecting human hearts inside broken systems & new perspectives on manhood
In this episode, I reconnect with Artem Beckmann, a culture consultant, men’s coach and community builder. We once crossed paths in the corporate world and have now come together again to question how we can create spaces of belonging and trust.Artem opens up about his early drive to connect people, rooted in childhood moments of bridging divides even in schoolyards. This curiosity led him to navigate thetension between business development and human-centred transformation.Artem reflects on his migrant background and the sense of justice that shaped his commitment to help others see new paths beyond rigid systems. We speak about the painful polarisation he witnessed in Ukraine, an experience that fuels his belief that disconnection breeds vulnerability. Our conversation moves from the micro of individual loneliness to the macro of organisational development — and how real change demands integrating human connection with structural shifts. We share insights from our co-facilitated CREATE Regeneration Convention, where we explored what it takes to move projects and organisations towards regeneration. Throughout, we hold up the messy reality: that inside big corporates, well-meaning projects can flourish, yet systems rarely integrate these experiments sustainably. Together, we wonder what it takes to bridge these worlds without losing our integrity. For us, it’s about weaving, connecting and staying human while working for systemic change. The episode invites you to reflect on your role — whether you are a disruptor, a Trojan horse or a quiet bridge-builder. We hope our stories inspire you to stay curious about your own ‘we’.💡 HIGHLIGHTS of this Episode
✨ What a childhood switch in schools taught Artem about community building — and why he never stopped doing it✨ Raw stories from the field: corporate culture vs. authentic change making✨ A deep dive into how polarisation splits societies — and why belonging might be our strongest antidote✨ Behind-the-scene of the CREATE Regeneration Convention: what works when you try to co-create real change?✨ Are you the Trojan horse or the rebel? How cross-sector connectors like Marc act as story-amplifiers for quiet pioneersIn this episode, I speak with Marc Violo, founder of MycoStories and a true connector across sectors. From high-tech startups in Asia to fungal research in the Amazon, Marc’s journey has been anything but linear—and all the more inspiring. He shares how fungi became his unlikely but powerful focus, not just as a biological marvel but as a metaphor for the way we need to work: through networks, relationships, and silent communication. We discuss the vast potential of fungi to heal landfills, disrupt toxic industries, and restore planetary health—yet many of the pioneers in this space remain invisible. That’s where Marc comes in: weaving together a global web of scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, and storytellers. He explains why communication, connection, and patient capital are critical to real innovation. We explore how ecosystems—both biological and human—thrive when nurtured with cooperation rather than control. From glowing bioluminescent wood to diapers that self-degrade, this is a deep dive into the transformative power of what lies within. And it's a celebration of those who operate quietly but move entire systems. If you’ve ever wondered how nature does innovation—and what we can learn from it—this episode is for you.💡 HIGHLIGHTS of this Episode✨ What a diaper, a mushroom, and a landfill can teach us about radical sustainability✨ How Marc connects hidden pioneers across biotech, conservation, and circular economy✨ Why working alone kills ideas—and how mycelial networking is important✨ 90% of fungi species are still unknown. Are we ignoring nature’s biggest innovation lab?✨ What glowing wood and regenerative diapers have in common (hint: it’s alive👋 ABOUT Marc Violo (he/him)Marc is the founder of MycoStories, an innovation platform working with organisations at the forefront of fungi-based innovation and conservation. About the “Not-Enough Trap" and common struggles impactpreneurs face in different phases
Listen in on this conversation between my dear colleague Nihal and I where together we explore what it really means to build a meaningful and impactful business from scratch. We’ve worked together before on a programme for young eco-entrepreneurs, and I know firsthand how deeply he cares about impact and how experienced as Venture Coach and Entrepreneur himself he is.I asked him: What keeps you going when everything falls apart? And how do you start when you don't know where to begin?Nihal shares how he left a career path he never chose for himself, asked difficult questions about identity and purpose, and turned those questions into a 16-year journey of transformation. We dive into the emotional risk of building a business that's an extension of who you are, why most social ventures don’t survive, and what it means to build your track record before anyone believes in you. An ex-game animator shares his healing journey from survival-mode to soulful service through self-leadership
In this week's Episode, Robin Tamura shares his personal journey how he went from being a game design animator stuck in survival mode to a self-leadership coach using Internal Family Systems (IFS) and mindfulness practices to help others find healing through presence. We talked about burnout, hyperthyroidism, and deep existential questioning - and how those moments led Robin to drop the masks, explore therapy, spiritual inquiry and shift into a purpose-led life. Robin shares powerful insights on why many of us live disconnected from our true selves, and how reconnecting with that quiet inner presence can spark both individual and social regeneration. We explored what self-leadership means, why many societal systems are trauma-based, and how healing ourselves can heal the collective. If you're navigating identity shifts or feeling stuck in roles that no longer fit, this episode will land deep and give you some concrete ideas how to take a step back and work with your "inner voices" to move forward with more peace and balance.💡 HIGHLIGHTS of this Episode✨ Robin's transformation from video game animator to self-leadership coach✨ What the #IFS (Internal Family Systems) model reveals about our inner voices✨ Why personal healing is essential for collective #regeneration✨ When burnout is your soul's most honest feedback✨ Spirituality as a radical act of self-acceptance✨ Why much of society might just be a well-dressed trauma response👋 ABOUT Robin (him/he)Robin Tamura is a holistic self-leadership coach who has been working with Internal Family Systems (IFS) since 2020, helping clients connect with their innermost truth and find courage, clarity, and confidence. Why the Human Rights sector needs to rethink itself from the Ground up
In this Episode, Rebecka Ambjörnsson - @karuna.family - , Managing Director of the social cooperative Karuna in Berlin, gives us insights into why traditional human rights organisations often reproduce the very inequalities they aim to fix.Drawing from her own disillusionment with top-down aid structures, Rebecka shared how Karuna flips the script by working directly with people who have lived experience of marginalisation. We talked about how social innovation can flourish when you put a local politician, a street-experienced teen, and an academic in the same room. We also touched on tokenism, the problem of unpaid activism, and how Karuna experiments with formats to make participation possible for those struggling just to get by.💡 HIGHLIGHTS of this Episode✨ The origin story of Karuna as a cooperative founded by formerly marginalised youth✨ How Karuna acts as a living lab for bottom-up social innovation✨ Examples of cross-stakeholder projects that unite academics, entrepreneurs, and youth with street experience✨ The ethics and practicalities of paying marginalised experts fairly for their contributions✨ Why classic human rights models often perpetuate colonial power dynamics👋 ABOUT Rebecka (she/her)Rebecka holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratisation and has worked across multiple continents with a range of human rights organisations and projects. About mines, memes, mindsets, and multilateralism
In this electrifying and deeply reflective conversation, we dive into the complex interplay between sustainability, geopolitics, and narratives. I speak with Maximiliano, whose unconventional path - from growing up in a mining region in Chile to shaping UN development programs - offers a rare perspective on global transformation. We discuss why sustainability doesn't happen in a vacuum, how power struggles and security fears distort our collective action, and why memes might be as important as policy papers. We unpack the hidden tensions in supply chains, EU carbon policies, and the role of language in shaping minds - and ultimately, the future.Should we be diplomatic or disruptive? Strategic or stubborn? The answer might just be: all of the above.💡 HIGHLIGHTS of this Episode✨ Why sustainability and security are two sides of the same coin✨ The political economy behind global resource extraction✨ Maximiliano’s personal journey from Chile’s mining north to UN diplomacy✨ How shifting narratives (and even emojis) shape sustainability training and strategies✨ Why value-driven language—and compromise—can both drive change👋 ABOUT Maximiliano Cortes Sotomayor (he/him)Maximiliano is a passionate professional with extensive experience in sustainable development, international project management, and environmental policy. We both share a passion for systems thinking and the FSSD framework, which we actively use in our work with organisations.
